The “Book Donation Drive” launched by the IIESL-UAE Branch has been completed with success. In December 2021, IIESL UAE Branch initiated and launched its ambitious project in February 2022, the donation of pre-loved books. The opportunities for the donation of pre-loved books were provided for the Sri Lankan community in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. It has become a popular event among the students, and they donated most of their pre-loved books.

On completion of the donation, the books collected were sorted out and packed for delivery to its destination. We managed to get the delivery of the books to Sri Lanka free of cost as three kind hearted Sri Lankan Professionals came forward, as the books were meant to be distributed among underprivileged students. With further support from well-wishers, the custom clearance was also done smoothly.

The books were finally delivered to the Provincial Department of Education, Anuradhapura. Provincial Director of Education at North Central Provinces extended his kind services to facilitate the distribution among students at various schools. Mr. Ruwan Jayathilake at the Provincial Department of Education provided his support to coordinate the distribution of books.

Mr. Indika Liyanage attended the event of handing over the books to the Department of Education, on behalf of the IIESL UAE Branch and we sincerely thank Mr. Liyanage for being kind enough to participate in this event.

Further noting that over AED 25,000.00 worth CSR project was successfully completed at zero cost to the IIESL UAE Branch.
